Men Should Dress Well: Why and How

There are three distinct benefits to dressing nicely when you go to class. They are respect, attention and opportunity.

Dressing well commands respect. As everyone knows, nobody likes listening to the kid in flip-flops, cargo shorts and a tank top. The second benefit of dressing nicer is that it brings attention. Everyone you meet and those who catch sight of you will notice that you dress better. The last benefit with dressing nicely when going to class is that you never know when an opportunity will present itself. A business professional will traditionally look much more highly of a student wearing a button-down than a hoodie.

Now you know why you should dress well, but one of the most confusing things men face is how to dress for specific occasions. Now let’s have a look at the three most common dress codes.

The first is the tuxedo. Opt for a slim tuxedo, and go black with satin peak lapels for a clean, timeless look. The next type of event is the business-professional event. Opt for a shirt and tie in toned-down colors if you choose a bolder suit, or go for a bold shirt-and-tie combo when choosing a subtle suit. The last type of dress code is business casual. Your best option for business casual is pairing a blazer with a pair of chinos.
